Nicolas Cage to Saddle Up for First Western ‘The Old Way’

Following a year that has seen him play a truffle forager in Pig, a version of himself in the upcoming The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and — almost — Joe Exotic in a now-shelved drama based on hit doc series Tiger King, Nicolas Cage has signed up for something completely different. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the prolific star is to play the lead in The Old Way, marking — incredibly — his first-ever Western.

Firestarter reboot lead Ryan Kiera Armstrong and Evil Dead alum Shiloh Fernandez are among cast to have joined Nicolas Cage in action-western The Old Way, which we revealed last week.

Capstone Pictures and Intercut Capital are co-financing and producing the picture. Capstone’s Christian Mercuri is executive-producing alongside David Haring. R. Bryan Wright and Micah Haley are producing for Intercut Capital.

Fresh off his lauded performance in art house darling Pig, Oscar winner Nicolas Cage has saddled up to lead action Western The Old Way. Capstone Pictures and Intercut Capital are co-financing and producing the picture. Capstone’s Christian Mercuri is executive producing alongside David Haring. R. Bryan Wright and Micah Haley are producing for Intercut Capital.


‘Jay and Silent Bob Reboot’ Co-Financier Intercut Capital Adds $125m in Funding with TinRes Deal - AFM

Intercut Capital, founded this year by producers David Pomier and R. Bryan Wright and which is a co-financier on the upcoming Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, has added $125 million in new funding in a partnership with TinRes Entertainment. The private lender plans to expand its scope worldwide, eyeing project budget between $3 million-$20 million.
